The Wavespell of the Wizard: What Your Mayan Kin Is (Solar Seal + Galactic Tone)
When someone comes to me for their Mayan Astral Chart, the first thing I clarify is that we're not looking at the sky: we're looking at a calendar. The system I use in my readings — known as Dreamspell, or the 13 Moons calendar — organizes time into 13-day cycles called Wavespells, each governed by one of the 20 solar seals of the Tzolkin. Right now we're moving through the Wavespell of the Wizard, and I want to tell you what that means and, more importantly, how your own Kin is calculated: the unique combination of seal and tone you were born with.
What is a Wavespell?
Each Wavespell lasts 13 days and takes the name of the seal that opens it. The Wizard's is the second of the full 260-day cycle, and it carries three words I repeat often in my readings: its action is to Enchant, its power is Timelessness, and its essence is Receptivity. In practice, it's a 13-day window where it helps to loosen your grip on the clock and the rigid agenda, and make room for curiosity, intuition, and that almost playful capacity to turn the everyday into something more magical — the Wizard, in the end, doesn't impose: it seduces and transforms through subtlety.
Your Mayan Kin: solar seal + galactic tone
Now, a clarification I always make before going further: we all live through the Wizard's Wavespell energy equally while it lasts, but your personal Kin — the one that stays with you for life — is a different thing, and depends only on your birth date. Your Kin combines two elements:
- Your solar seal: one of the 20 Tzolkin archetypes (Dragon, Wind, Night, Seed, Serpent, World-Bridger, Hand, Star, Moon, Dog, Monkey, Human, Skywalker, Wizard, Eagle, Warrior, Earth, Mirror, Storm, or Sun) — it describes your essence, your natural way of being in the world.
- Your galactic tone: a number from 1 to 13 that gives your seal its rhythm and intensity — a seal in tone 1 (the seed of an intention) is not the same as that same seal in tone 13 (the culmination of a cycle).
If you were born during one of the 13 days of the Wizard's Wavespell, your solar seal is indeed the Wizard — but your specific galactic tone is still yours alone, and it completely changes the shade of the reading. That's why I never give a generic interpretation by seal alone: the exact calculation of the Julian day and the calendar correlation is what actually determines your Kin, and a single day's error changes the whole result.
Knowing your Kin is the first step to reading your energy in the same language I use in the full Mayan Astral Chart reading: your solar seal, your galactic tone, and how they connect with the rest of the sacred calendar.
